I’m a digital strategist and search marketing manager with expertise in organic search optimization, technical marketing, and content strategy. I help people tell the story about their product, service, or idea on the internet.
I have a over a decade’s worth of experience as an organic search engine optimization (SEO) and findability expert for IBM Web properties and I work as a consultant for smaller businesses. I create digital strategies to help sites reach their local and global target audiences via whatever methods the audience prefers — using digital tactics in search, social media and communities, Web metrics, and occasionally paid search.
I wrote these articles back when SEO was just invented, but most of my recommendations are still true:
- Search engine optimization basics, Part 1, Improve your standing in search engines (developerWorks archive)
- Search engine optimization basics, Part 2: SEO keyword and infrastructure strategies (Wayback machine)
I’ve provided strategies for enterprise, small business, B2B, developer-focused, real estate, and healthcare sites. If you need help telling your story and being visible on the web, I can help. And I can tell you not only what to do, but how to do it. I have very strong opinions about redirects and URL structures and for relaxation, I enjoy creating graphs in excel. I live in the best mid-sized city in the US but I work on sites all over the world. I’m also known as Jennette Banks, but LJ is much easier to spell. You can contact me at jennette at ljbanks dot com or by using the contact form below.
The postings on this site are my own and don’t necessarily represent IBM’s positions, strategies or opinions.
